The North Carolina Zoo will be closed to the public until Wednesday because of problems caused by cold, windy weather. They say all animals and staff are safe and no exhibits or buildings were damaged.

JOB FAIR:   Today 10-3 @ First Christian Church in Kernersville…Over 20 employers represented.  Presented by the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce.

AMERICA’S LARGEST CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORE CHAIN – FAMILY CHRISTIAN STORES HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY.  The recession, the digital revolution, and the company’s debt load  appear to be the leading factors in this decision.  Customers should notice little change as the company plans to keep all 266 stores open and it’s 4000 employees at work.

Who says only big churches can have effective outreach?   King’s View Assembly of God in Lone, California, population 3,814 began several years ago with an average Sunday attendance of 15 people. From the beginning, ministering to the children of the town has been the church focus…This included giving away 500 shoes and backpacks at the local elementary school – AND – On Wednesdays, kids show up at 4:30 for a free hot dog meal at 6.  Meeting the needs of children has helped bridge the gap between the church and the town, and King’s View has grown as a result. Recently, attendance reached an all-time high of 121.

JEFF GORDON is on the POLE for Next Sunday’s DAYTONA 500.  This will be the final run for Gordon @ Daytona – a race he won 3x in his career.
