What motivates you? In other words, why do you do what you do? Is what you think, say and do motivated by fear, guilt or anger? Maybe it’s a need for approval or a need to be right that makes you tick. Perhaps you’re often compelled by wealth, winning, a need for power or a desire to make yourself look good.
However, the only pure motivation we can have, the only one that will not lead us astray is LOVE. I think Romans 13:8-10 says it well, “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not covet,’ and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Today, and every day, let love be the reason for why we do what we do.
I have been working at WBFJ since September 2004 when God threw me out of the boat I was riding in and set me on a new and wonderful course. I love co-hosting the morning show, although the lack of sleep does make me a bit loopy at times.
