Decided or Undecided?
With piles of political spam in the mail box and those pesky Robo-calls at suppertime, if you haven’t noticed, there is a huge national (and state) election coming up in November. Each political candidate is trying to earn your vote. Personally, I have taken my opportunity to vote very seriously over the years. Voting has actually become a family affair in the Hill household. Paula and I have always taken our girls with us to punch our ballot. Well, now it’s the touch screen. We’ve gone High-Tech in Davidson County…
Where there is no vision, the people perish
Hopefully, you have looked at the issues, compared political platforms, even weighed out the facts by way of the scriptures.
But meet the ‘undecided voter’. This elusive citizen makes up roughly 6% of the electorate. The ‘undecided voter’ is “overwhelmingly concerned with their family budgets, not the national budget. They are concerned about putting food on the table or gas in the tank. They are living one paycheck away from going off the financial cliff.” The undecided group has been more likely to choose…”none,” “other,” “don’t know” or “refuse to answer” on a broad range of questions about the presidential candidates and national political issues. On questions about the budget deficit, same-sex marriage, healthcare and immigration, the undecided voter was twice as likely to answer “unsure” when asked about their personal views. (According to Reuters / Ipsos polling data 2012) http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/10/04/us-usa-campaign-undecided-poll-idUSBRE8930ND20121004
Bottom line: Please get decided. Get informed! Pray and search the scriptures when it comes to the issues. Be prepared before you enter your polling place on November 6th. And, make sure you know WHERE you are suppose to vote. Been there before…
Just a reminder: Early voting begins this Thursday, October 18 and continues through November 03, 2012. Check out various Voter Guides on the News Blog: https://www.wbfj.fm/2012/10/election-2012-early-voting-information-and-voter-guides/
A final thought. According to Restore America:
There were 58 million eligible Christian voters in America in 2006-
…10 million were not registered to vote for the 2006 Election
…over 20 million who were registered, did NOTvote.
VERSE: “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD” Psalm 150
QUOTE: “A person who loves his job, will never work a day in his life.”
