Wednesday Word – July 3

Tomorrow we as a nation will celebrate July 4th, the freedom of our nation from the oppression and tyranny of the Brittish.  I found this quote from Patrick Henry, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great Nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.”  Need I say more?  We are a nation that was founded not only on Christian principals but the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I do wish people would do their homework.

All we hear about is political correctness, tolerance, separation of church and state, which is far from what this great nation of ours was founded on.  The United States of American was founded and established by
men and women who had a personal relationship with Jesus.  I believe they moved according to His
leadership.   Yet on July 4th 2013, I believe we are far from where we should be.  We hear about tolerance and yet there seems to be little tolerance of the things of God. I should be so sensitive to others that I should not force my beliefs on another.  I have a mandate from God, Himself, to share Him, His love with others.  Do I honor political correctness or the words of my God?

On this July 4th, I will celebrate the freedom we have to worship our risen Savior.  I will be thankful for those who have fought, that we could keep this precious freedom.  I will celebrate my freedom in Christ and complete dependence on Him, only then I am truly free.  Won’t you join me?  With every firework we see displayed, let us rejoice that He is Lord.  With every hamburger we devour, thank Him for our food.  Pray, pray, for our great nation, for your family, for your church family, for those who do not know Jesus, for your enemy, for the body of Christ, for a spiritual awakening, that we are listening to the voice of God and moving accordingly.

Psalm 119:45  I walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.  I will speak of your statutes
before kings and will not be put to shame, for I delight in your commandments because I love them.  I reach out my hands for your commandments which I love, and I meditate on your decrees.

Join me this July 4th in letting freedom ring!!!!!!  Give of yourself reflecting the freedom that Jesus has given you.
