I usually take these “every-so-often” opportunities to write about things that are happening in my own life: my marriage, my kids, my community. Instead of the traditional approach to how I spent my summer vacation, I want to take this occasion to write about yours: your family, your friends, your church, your community.
Somehow your workplace has become a quieter place…although somewhat disjointed thanks to vacations and time away for one thing or another. Makes getting and staying on the same page a bit of a challenge.
Between the weeks of rain and the days of heat, somehow you have found time to celebrate those moments in life that only come once. That mission trip has impacted your teenager no doubt giving greater focus to the eternal aspect of life and investing their talent and time into those things that really matter. Counter that with the kids at home for the summer looking for something to do (& eat) before you can even pause for lunch.
It’s hard to keep all that in perspective when you have that friend who is spending this summer in the battle of (and for) their life! Prayers seem inadequate and your compassion level is intensifying. Even so that list of those in need seems to go grow longer each day.
In the midst of all these growing moments, you have the reassurance that a loving, caring God is with you. Even though you can’t make sense out of everything (anything), you found that you can still find joy and peace in life because you have a God that is in control and gives hope that cannot be found anywhere else.
So, in that I thank you! Thank you for sharing your story. More than likely it is something to which each of us can relate. Hopefully, we can also relate to your testimony of God’s presence in each season. What a blessing!
