Wednesday Word for March 28th

Spring is my favorite season of the year, with cool, crisp mornings and evenings, and warm, sunny days. It’s the time of year when the birds rejoice, and all the little critters come out of hiding. Sights: blue skies, green grass, and all colors of blossoming flowers and trees. Sounds: the roar of the neighbor’s lawn mower, the sound of children playing outdoors, the buzzing of bees. Smells: fresh cut grass, and the glorious aroma of blooming flowers. Spring couldn’t come at a better time! After the harshness of winter, spring brings the joy and beauty of new life.

While pondering the beauty of new life, I can’t help but praise God for giving me new life, and not only another chance at life as “who I was”, but life as a “new creation”! 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Praise God that death brings forth life! When we die to our sinful selves, we become alive in Christ, no longer held captive by our sins, no longer slaves to fear and regret!

Colossians 2:13 says, “When you were dead in your sins, you were not set free from the sinful things of the world. But God forgave your sins and gave you new life through Christ”…spiritual springtime!

Embrace new life this spring, (and always!)
