Wednesday Word for January 5th

I don’t know about you but as 2011 began, there was a bitter sweetness that surrounded it.  2010 was a year that brought many joys, but for some, just as many, if not more disappointments, heartache and pain.  I am not sure  what you experienced as a difficulty, disappointment, heartache or pain, was it the loss of someone who left us much too soon, lost employment that you felt pretty secure about, told that you or child had cancer or had to become the parent to an elderly parent?  Having to go through these things in life alone would be devastating but we don’t have to go through it alone, because we have a God who loves us and has a plan for our lives. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Our God loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to die a cruel death that we might have forgiveness for our sins and eternal life. (Jeremiah 31:3, John 3:16, Eph 2:4-5)

Our God works together all things for our good. (Romans 8:28)

Our God supplies our needs. (Phil 4:19, Jehovah Jireh-our Provider)

Our God meets our needs by moving on the hearts of friends and families and sometimes people we don’t know to be our Aaron,  to hold our arms up when we are no longer able to do it our own. (Exodus 17:12, Gal 6:2)

Our God will speak specifically to us, so specifically that it is as if He speaks our name. (Zephaniah 3;17, 1 Timothy 3:16)

Our God will never leave or forsake us. (Deut. 3:16, Hebrews 13:5)

Our God‘s mercies are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

I hope we will all begin 2011 by believing and standing on the truth of His word!!!

It is so easy when life is good to have faith.  I am learning more and more our faith is exercised through the tough times, the times when life is not going our way, not going as we planned it, it’s not always easiest, but absolutely necessary for us to make it through.  Now Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  (Heb. 11-1)  Faith is not in the circumstance to be better but in the God who loves us with a perfect love that cast out all fear. (1 John 4:18)

So no matter what you or I have faced in the past or in
the future – go forth in 2011 knowing that we can persevere,
(Rom 5:3-5, Gal 6:9, James 1:12) we can be courageous, (Joshua 1:9)  we can stand and not be dismayed, (Isaiah 41:10) because we are loved perfectly by our Father!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 2011 be filled with the assurance that our utter dependence is on our God who loves each of us perfectly!!
