Wednesday Word for December 14th

Hello, WBFJ friends! I hope you and your family are having a glorious Christmas season!  A few days ago, a friend of mine lost her father. In preparation for his funeral, she asked me if I could recommend a song that could be used in a tribute to her dad. Although I have listened to Christian music for years, I had a very hard time coming up with a song that I felt would do justice to the life of this godly, faith-filled man. Although my lack of suggestions frustrated me initially, I began to realize that my dilemma was really a tribute in itself. Shouldn’t we all wish to lead a life so well lived that no earthly melody or lyric could do it justice? Wouldn’t it be great if we loved so much and gave so selflessly during our lifetime that neither Mark Schultz or Steven Curtis Chapman could even capture it in a song? I think we achieve such a masterpiece once we realize that God is the ultimate songwriter and then allow ourselves to be His instruments. May God put a song in your heart this holiday season that you can “live out loud” the whole year through…

Your friend,
Lana
