Bad Cilantro-  The Food and Drug Administration has issued a ban on some cilantro imported from Mexico after an investigation to determine the cause of hundreds of reported intestinal illnesses in the United States dating back to 2012.  The FDA will not allow fresh cilantro from Mexico grown outside of Puebla to enter the U.S. from April 1 through August 31 without proper growing documents.  http://goo.gl/6ONDWj

Ever think about being the brains behind fixing big rigs?  GTCC is holding an open house at their Jamestown campus from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for people interested in the automotive program.  Keeping the 21st Century big rig on the road takes a specialized technician. Boys New Hands- Surgeons in Philadephia have performed a double-hand transplant on a 8 year old boy and is believed to be the youngest patient to undergo the procedure.  Zion Harvey received the new limbs earlier this month at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  What does Zion say “I’m the same kid with cool new hands” – http://goo.gl/KBdvm & https://www.facebook.com/WBFJ.FM

Weight Loss Balloon- Everyone struggles with weight loss and what are the newest diets out there.  This may be the newest solution; the Federal health regulators on Tuesday approved an inflatable medical balloon that aids weight loss by filling up space in the stomach.  The FDA has cleared Reshape Medical’s balloon as another option for millions of obese Americans who have been unable to lose weight via more traditional methods.  http://goo.gl/Fz5Zm4

Computer Strikes- There will be no more blaming or booing the umpire for a questionable calls on Strikes and balls in a Northern CA independent baseball league.  The human element that many in baseball appreciate will be absent during this experiment.  A computer will call balls and strikes as the home plate umpire handles all of his other regular duties.  I bet it’s gonna be strange yelling at the computer.  http://goo.gl/0KepDv

Program aims to help the youngest residents- Kate B Reynolds Charitable Trust has announced the launch of Great Expectations, the trust’s early childhood development initiative.  Great Expectations has five core priorities targeting everything from child and family health.  The initiative will involve the health care system, school system, businesses, and agencies that support families.  http://goo.gl/m2ekol
