 “Astonishing victory…   Election shocker…”

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump has been elected as America’s 45th president. Hillary Clinton and the Democrats outspent Trump by nearly two-to-one, yet he still won, turning the American political map into a sea of Republican red.  *Trump received 81% of the evangelical vote, which was about 3% more than Republican Mitt Romney received in 2012.  https://goo.gl/nn1dGT

The drug is now legal for recreational purposes in California, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Maine.  Voters in Florida, Arkansas, and North Dakota legalized access to marijuana for medical purposes only. https://goo.gl/ONUKhP

So who will be Governor elect in North Carolina?

Still too close to call an official winner in the Governor’s race .  Only a few thousand votes separate Gov Pat McCrory and Democrat challenger Roy Cooper. The Board(s) of elections across the state will conduct a full canvass next Friday (NOV 18) to decide the race. https://goo.gl/ea5jwA

What is the Canvass?  The county canvass is the mechanism by which election results in a county become official. The county canvass meeting is conducted 10 days after Election Day (which will be NOV 18). During the canvassing period, county boards of elections will also count eligible civilian, military or overseas absentee ballots that are received after Election Day. *Until the relevant canvass, all election results posted by the State Board of Elections are unofficial.
