Beat the Heat: Tips to Survive Hot Summer Nights (with or without AC)
–Choose cotton sheets. Save the ooh-la-la satin, silk, or polyester sheets for fall and Winter nights. Light-colored bed linens made of lightweight cotton are breathable and excellent for promoting ventilation and airflow in the bedroom.
-Feel the freezer burn. Place pillow cases (even sheets) in plastic bags then into the fridge or freezer 30 minutes before bedtime.
-Get low. Remember, hot air rises, so set up your bed, hammock, or cot as close to the ground as possible to beat the heat.
-Turn off the lights. Light bulbs (even environmentally-friendly ones) give off heat. **More tips to beat the heat on the News Blog http://goo.gl/qAC54T
