Today is ‘Fried Chicken’ Day…
About 50 billion chicken eggs are produced in the US annually
About 22 million chickens are consumed in the US each day
In the United States, we tend to consume chicken as our white meat of choice and beef as our red meat, but 63% of the world’s population eats GOAT meat. It is actually lower in calories and lower in fat… http://ucanr.edu/blogs/blogcore/postdetail.cfm?postnum=3679
Be prepared to pay more for that double Latte at Starbucks. The coffee chain says it will raise prices on select beverages starting next Tuesday (July 12). http://goo.gl/yeYTuh
Ever wondered just how big Noah’s Arc really was? Answers in Genesis is putting the final touches on The Ark Encounter, the life-size replica of Noah’s Ark that will open to the public in Williamstown, Kentucky, this Thursday.
BTW: The date 7 – 7 (or July 7th) has a special biblical connection with
Genesis 7:7… “And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood…” Video http://goo.gl/FgDhzi
FYI: Bill Nye “The Science Guy” is reportedly considering Ken Ham’s offer to tour the Ark Encounter…
Twin sisters Sarah Mariuz and Leah Rodgers have always been
on the same page, and apparently their new babies are, too?
The identical twins, who are 35 years old, each gave birth to their first child last Thursday. The babies were born at the same exact time in each sister’s respective time zone – Leah’s son was born at 1:18 a.m., in Denver, Colorado, and Sarah’s daughter was born at 1:18 a.m., in La Jolla, California.
The moms and babies are home from the hospital and doing well.
The families are trying to work out a time to visit each other.
Both sisters agreed “We’re definitely spending Christmas together…”
UPS will install 300 new locker style pick-up locations in the US.
The lockers are used by UPS drivers as drop-off points for packages ordered online, giving customers 24/7 access to retrieve their orders via a personalized PIN code. The new lockers will be placed outside 7-Eleven stores, as well as independent retailers. Online shoppers will be required to use UPS’ My Choice mobile app to direct their packages to the closest locker location.
This means that parcel delivery firms, like UPS, are shipping more goods directly to the consumer, as opposed to through their traditional business-to-business (B2B) operations. It can take the delivery driver as many as two to three times to deliver the package if the customer is not home, increasing driver delivery time and labor costs. http://goo.gl/MTEWP3
One South Carolina town easily passed an ordinance to ban ‘sagging pants’? The Timmonsville town council approved the measure in a 5-to-1 vote. “People are wearing their pants below their waistline, and, to me, it just wasn’t the appropriate thing to do…” Check out the exact wording of the ordinance on the News Blog http://goo.gl/ExsfgR
