New FDA food labels began rolling out late last week, looking much the same as the old labels, but there is a BIG difference in the information.   The new labels now reflect what we really eat, not what should be eaten. If a food item contains six servings, yet it will likely be eaten by one, the new label has to acknowledge it. Added sugars also have to be shown..     http://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/fda-s-new-food-labels-will-be-little-bigger-n577481

Bucket List, check:  Hermina Hirsch (an 89-year-old Holocaust survivor) fulfilled her longtime wish to sing the national anthem at a Major League Baseball game on Saturday.  Hirsch delighted the home crowd at Comerica Park in Detroit before the Detroit Tigers played Tampa Bay. The Czechoslovakia native was 17 when her family was split up and sent to several concentration camps before being liberated in January 1945. Hirsch has been a Tigers fan since she moved to the Detroit area more than 60 years ago. Hirsch has been singing the anthem for years during Holocaust survivor meetings in the Detroit area.  http://goo.gl/jPDhqa

Lifelong collection finds a new ‘permanent’ home…

(Jamestown) Jim Lutzweiler had assembled a collection of nearly 2,000 gospel hymnals over the past five decades.  Lutzweiler (age 70), a singer, songwriter and former archivist for the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest  didn’t want his collection to end up in the bins of the nearest Goodwill.

So, he sought out a news home.  Liberty University sent an appraiser to North Carolina to check out the collection and struck a deal – for the now planned “James and Shelly Lutzweiler Gospel Hymnal Collection” in the school’s new $50 million ‘Jerry Falwell Library’.  http://www.journalnow.com/news/local/jesus-loves-me-and-the-man-who-collected-its-original/article_77b86dfd-faa3-5ced-ae9c-6c1365a4ff2c.html
