Religious Freedom attacks…

The family of a second-grader in Texas is a little upset after the student’s teacher took her Bible away during a quiet reading time.  The teacher in question allegedly told the girl not to bring the Bible back to school again… because the Bible is inappropriate reading material.  The school’s library contains copies of the Holy Bible.  Liberty Institute is representing the family… http://www.khou.com/news/local/Second-grade-student-says-teacher-took-away-her-Bible-during-reading-time-256266631.html

“Under God” harmful to students?  An unnamed family has sued a New Jersey school district, claiming that the phrase “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance discriminates against atheist students and violates the state constitution’s right to equal protection. The American Humanist Association (AHA), which filed the lawsuit on behalf of the family and also has a similar case pending in Massachusetts, argues that the phrase “marginalizes atheist and humanist kids as something less than ideal patriots.”    Say what??????????  BTW:  Students were not forced to participate. www.afa.net http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2014/0422/Atheists-new-plan-of-attack-against-Pledge-of-Allegiance-state-courts-video
