Are you working today?– If you’re working this week, you are one of the 59 percent of Americans that are putting in a few hours. A recent survey says 28 percent of us takeoff the entire week between Christmas and New Year’s, and some at least part of the week. The survey says that there may be a few more potlucks and some extra chitchat, but most of us still plan to make our work productive.  http://goo.gl/NIoGWX

“IKEA Effect” Cooking– If you don’t cook, you should. That’s the bottom line from a study that says people enjoy healthy food more if they make it themselves. The study supports findings from prior research that is called the “IKEA effect.” It states people like or give a higher value to things they create themselves, like IKEA furniture.  http://goo.gl/aJQmT3

Winter Weather Traffic- Yesterday’s weather caused the cancellation of hundreds of flights and threw off holiday travel for fliers and motorists alike. Chicago’s O’Hare saw the worst of it, and it being a huge airport hub, caused a rippling effect of delays and cancellations through much of the rest of the nation’s airports. Now the Northeast is going to get in on some winter weather. Ski resorts are welcoming the snow and colder temperatures. It’s been unseasonably warm in the Northeast so far this winter and the ground is fairly bare of snow.  http://goo.gl/b1hXFM
