No more ‘King-Sized’ Candy Bars? By the end of the year, candy maker Mars will stop selling chocolate products that have more than 250 calories per portion. A ‘regular sized’ Mars product is around 280 calories. Yes, even they will be a little smaller in a couple of months. Price? Auditions for the “X Factor” will be making a stop in the Triad. The date: May 1 at the Greensboro Coliseum. The winner of Simon Cowell’s X Factor gets a $5 million dollar recording contract with Sony Music.
Now it’s the teachers fault? Hoke County School officials are now claiming that a 4-year old student who was made to purchase chicken nuggets and not allowed to eat her own bagged lunch was supposedly ONLY to add a single serving milk to her meal. The girl’s teacher mistakenly told the 4 year old to purchase a cafeteria lunch. Two North Carolina lawmakers have asked the Obama administration to investigate what they called government meddling. FYI: The girl’s bagged lunch consisted of a turkey-and-cheese sandwich, banana and chips. www.wxii12.com/news/30475470/detail.html#ixzz1me1mXzhJ

What’s all the LIN-sation about Jeremy Lin? NBA sensation Jeremy Lin is in the national spotlight, after going from bench-warmer to leading the New York Knicks in a series of big wins. The California native is a devout Christian. “Lin-sanity” skyrocketed earlier in the week when the undrafted player from Harvard made a three-pointer with time running out on the clock to lift the Knicks over the Raptors 90 – 87. The Knicks won their 7th game in a row last night. BTW: Lin’s parents, who are Taiwanese, belong to Mountain View’s Redeemer Bible Fellowship, the English language ministry of the Chinese Church in Christ. *Learn more about Lin: http://www.mercurynews.com/jeremy-lin/ci_19954877
