Those Bird scooters ordered off the streets in Greensboro?
Bird Rides Inc. is removing hundreds of electric scooters until the city can revise its ordinances to accommodate them.
City officials late last week asked the company to remove the scooters, which they say are often used in violation to city laws. Riders leave them lying on sidewalks, impeding foot traffic or ride them in bike lanes, where motorized vehicles are prohibited, officials said. The scooters have become popular in the Triad since they were introduced in the summer.
