The Cheesiest college mascot is…right here in the Triad?
The Fighting Pickle, the mascot of the UNC School of the Arts, has been named the cheesiest college mascot by Frito-Lay. The Fighting Pickle, whose appearances on campus are rare because, well, the school does not have any sports teams, nudged out Kernel Cobb of Concordia College in Minnesota and Gladys, the Fighting Squirrel of Mary Baldwin College in Virginia. “Rameses the Ram” from UNC Chapel Hill was voted #15. Frito-Lay North America said in a press release that the rankings were based on “all-around silliness” and were not scientific.
