 Slopes are open – Sugar Mountain Ski Resort located in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina opened on Sunday for skiing and snowboarding. This is the 2nd earliest opening at Sugar; just behind the Halloween opening two years ago.   http://goo.gl/TMEoCK

 UPDATE: Health officials saying that test results have come back ‘negative’ after a patient from Liberia was admitted to Duke University Hospital with a fever over the weekend.  The patient left Liberia and arrived in the US at Newark International Airport on Friday with NO Ebola symptoms but developed a fever on Sunday. **The patient was transported from Person County north of Durham to  Duke Medical for testing.     http://goo.gl/yXSKS7
