The Mission of Operation Christmas Child: To demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Update: City Council members in King will hold a public hearing on the Christian Flag debate on Monday Oct. 11 at 6pm at the King Elementary School Gym. At the hearing, the King City Council will present several options on how to deal with the situation.
Back on (Sept 16), the King City Council voted to remove the Christian Flag from the Veterans Memorial after the ACLU threatened a lawsuit.
Rolling Thunder’s mission is to advocate the U.S. government to bring home American POWs and those still missing in action. To participate in the ‘temporary’ Christian Flag watch at the Veterans Memorial in King, contact Cheryl Penn with Rolling Thunder at 816-0502.

Kyle Petty – Former NASCAR driver, now racing broadcaster with TNT
The 8th Annual “Ride to Victory” happens on Sunday, October 17. The one-day motorcycle riders will leave from the zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC, parade ride through Victory Junction Camp and finish up in Trinity with the “Songwriters Jam” at Kyle and Pattie Petty’s Farm on Finch Farm Road in Trinity.
This year’s Ride to Victory will benefit Victory Junction, a year round camping facility serving children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses. The cost for both the ride and the evening jam is $40 dollars. Early registration ends on Tuesday, October 12.

FYI: Kyle and Pattie Petty’s son Adam was killed on May 12, 2000 (10 years ago this year) during a practice session at New Hampshire Speedway. Adam Petty was 19 years old.
Adam was America’s first “fourth generation Pro sports athlete” following the footsteps of Lee, Richard and Kyle Petty.
