How rehabilitation hospitals differ from skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, etc.
We recently opened a rehabilitation hospital on Stratford Road and I think the public sometimes confuses the differences as there are so many options these days as Baby Boomers age.
It’s really one of those things where different facilities can be best fits for different patients.
A common misconceptions…
Rehabilitation hospitals don’t see younger patients when actually they can see adult patients as young as 18.
A trend we’re a part of with our new facility is moving these facilities out of the main hospital so patients can get care in facilities where everyone is focused on rehabilitation. We moved our inpatient Whittaker facility to the new site.
