Recall: Seven Lettuces bagged salad from Dole (News update)

RECALL: Dole Foods is recalling cases of its ‘Seven Lettuces’ salad in a bag, because they could be contaminated with salmonella. The salads were distributed in 15 states including North Carolina.  The recalled bags of salad are stamped with a use-by date of April 11, 2012. UPC code 71430 01057 and product codes 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B.

Health Warning:  A yellowfin tuna product used in sushi has been linked to an outbreak of salmonella that has sickened more than 100 people in 20 states.

Starting next year, the check will no longer be in the mail for millions of people who receive Social Security and other government benefits. The federal government is phasing out paper checks for all benefit programs, requiring people to get payments electronically, either through direct deposit or a debit card for those without a bank account.  A Mega-church in Ohio will continue to give a dollar to charity for every individual who attends a service at one of its campuses or online. Cedar Creek Church, which started its ‘giving program’ during Easter, gave away about $21,000 dollars last week. You do the math: over 18,000 people came through the church’s doors on Easter Sunday morning while another 2,000 people logged on to catch the service over theinternet.

Residents in parts of 10 states continue to clean up after violent storms produced more than one hundred tornadoes over the weekend.  Five people lost their lives in Oklahoma.

 Christian leader Chuck Colson is still in ICU after brain surgery two weeks ago after he became ill during a conference in Virginia.  The Christian Post reporting that Colson is slowly regaining some speech and showing other signs of recovery at a hospital inVirginia.
