Pre-Black Friday: This year, Kmart will open at 6am Thanksgiving Day and will remain open for 41 straight hours? Macy’s, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Target will also be open ON Thanksgiving Day. Stores that will remain CLOSED on Thanksgiving include Costco, Barnes & Noble, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Pier 1 Imports, Burlington Coat Factory, Petco, Radioshack, GameStop and Dillard’s. Some financial experts saying that a store staying closed on Thanksgiving can actually improve sales on Black Friday.
BTW: If you live in Rhode Island, Maine, or Massachusetts there are laws on the books dating back to the 17th century making it illegal for retailers to open on Thanksgiving. Thank the Puritans? http://goo.gl/msEOFr
