Good news at the pump? According to a new survey, gas prices have broken a nearly three-month upward spiral so far this month, and you can expect a bit more relief in the coming weeks. The average price of regular across the U.S. stood at $3.74 on Friday, a 5½-cent drop since February 22. ***The average price for regular unleaded in NC is $3.69.

The Centennial Parade Committee is still accepting applications for parade floats for decades that have not been covered, the 1920s, 1940s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s through 5 p.m. TODAY. The Centennial Parade will be held at 2 p.m. May 11. Rules and guidelines for the floats?

Like Art and Care about the Environment? A unique exhibit at Guilford College in Greensboro shows us what is becoming of the plastic we throw away. Artist Bonnie Monteleone has traveled more than 10,000 nautical miles and found plastic in even the most remote areas of the oceans even using some of that plastic to create the exhibit, hoping to give people a better idea what our throw-away culture is doing to our environment. The exhibit kicked off “No Impact Week,” an effort driven by the Greensboro Public Library to encourage people to make greener choices.
