Chrysler has finally given in to a government ‘requested’ Recall of 2.7 million older model Jeeps. The reason: a risk that the fuel tanks could rupture and cause a fire during rear-end collisions. The recall includes 1993 to 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees and 2002 to 2007 Jeep Liberty SUVs.  FYI: A recent online survey by Kelley Blue Book showing that 64% of those answering their survey would NOT consider any vehicle from an automaker that fights a recall.  http://money.cnn.com/2013/06/18/autos/chrysler-recall-deadline/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

S-M-O-D?   Picking out an outfit for school should be a little easier for students attending Cook Elementary School in the Fall. The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education approved a request from Cook Elementary to implement a Standard Mode of Dress (or SMOD).  At least a dozen other Forsyth County schools already employ SMOD. A provision requiring hotels and motels in North Carolina to install carbon monoxide detectors in guest rooms could be included in the state budget bill making its way through the General Assembly. According to the Winston-Salem Journal the safety measure is being pushed after three people died at a Best Western in Boone from exposure to carbon monoxide that was not properly vented out of the hotel.  BTW: In North Carolina: Carbon monoxide detectors are NOT required in hotels and motels. http://myfox8.com/2013/06/18/state-could-approve-carbon-monoxide-detector-measure/
