AccuMED’s move to Mocksville will create between 40 to 50 jobs, including jobs in senior management, human relations, finance, logistics and quality assurance. Hiring is expected to begin next spring.
AccuMed is a high-tech company that provides engineering design for medical devices is moving its headquarters from Buffalo, N.Y., to Mocksville, the Davie County Economic Development Commission announced Tuesday. The company will move into the former Ventlab Building, a 78,000-square foot facility that has been vacant for more than a year. It’s located at 155 Boyce Drive, off U.S. 601. On its website, AccuMED describes its mission as providing engineering services and contract manufacturing for major medical products, with a specialty in textile-based products that come in contact with the body.
In May, Avgol announced it was expanding its Mocksville operations, a move that will create about 50 new jobs, and Volvo announced it will expand a facility in Advance that recycles heavy-duty truck parts.
Last month, Ashley Furniture said it will expand its Advance facility, creating 450 new jobs.
