Another shark bite was reported at Surf City (NC) over the weekend.  WITN-TV confirming that a shark-bite victim was brought to an area hospital on Saturday.  The male victim was treated and released from the hospital. This is the eighth shark bite reported along North Carolina waters in less than a month, and the second one at Surf City.  http://goo.gl/9WQ1TK

 

NASCAR:  Late night / early morning racing at DaytonaDale Earnhardt Jr. winner of the rain-delayed race at Daytona International Speedway.  RCR’s Austin Dillon walked away from a serious pile up during the final lap of the Coke Zero 400. Bubble wrap with NO pop???  Charlotte based ‘Sealed Air’ – the original seller of Bubble Wrap since 1960 –  is rolling out a revamped version of its signature product. Dubbed iBubble Wrap, the new packaging is sold in flat plastic sheets that the shipper fills with air using a custom-made pump. The inflated bubbles look much like traditional Bubble Wrap, with one key difference: They don’t POP!  Traditional Bubble Wrap ships in giant, pre-inflated rolls, taking up precious room in delivery trucks and on customers’ warehouse floors. Kernersville will hold its annual bulky-item pickup beginning today (Monday) through July 16.  Bulky items, extra garbage that is bagged and extra recyclables will be picked up on the regularly scheduled trash pickup day. Bulky items accepted include couches, chairs, tables and any large item that will not fit in the gray rollout cart. Toilets will be picked up, but water should be drained from the tank.  Not included: construction and demolition materials, televisions, computers and other electronic devices. Burt Shavitz, the Burt behind Burt’s Bees passed away on Sunday.  He was 80 years old. The co-founder of the natural cosmetics company the business to Durham in 1994.  Burt’s Bees was sold to Clorox in 2007 for $925 million dollars.  http://goo.gl/WNjcwM

 

This is the first time in over 40 years that people have been allowed to take photos during White House tours and the White House is encouraging visitors to share their photos using the hashtag #whitehousetour. Ever experienced a home break-in? 

(Missouri) Chris Oursler and his wife returned from work to find their TV, computer, tablet, and jewelry stolen. The thieves also took a box of service medals that Chris’ grandfather received in the war. However, ten days after the family’s home was burglarized, the couple found their grandfather’s medals sitting in a bag on their back porch.
