Greensboro Human Relations Commission MLK Memorial Breakfast:

The annual memorial breakfast will be held at the Sheraton Four Seasons at 3121 High Point Road starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday. The cost is $20 and due to limited seating, reservations are requested to be made immediately. Organizers say no tickets will be sold at the door. The keynote speaker is Carol Rogoff Hallstorm, a public interest attorney and civil rights activist with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. Saint James Presbyterian Church Serivce (Greensboro): The 10th annual celebration will be held Monday at the church on 820 Ross Avenue at Noon. The speaker will be Reverend Y. Trevor Beauford, a associate pastor of Children, Youth, and Singles at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte. The celebration will include ecumenical leaders, the Glenn Burleigh choir, liturgical dancers, drama, and more. For more information, go to St. James website or call (336) 273-6658.

High Point University Service Of Worship: The annual service will he held Monday at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of Hayworth Chapel. The service is open to the public and no tickets are required. It will also be streamed live at www.highpoint.edu/live. The senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Raphael Gamaliel Warnock, will deliver the message. There will also be a time of worship.

MLK Jr. Parade (Greensboro): Held on Monday starting at 11 a.m. in downtown Greensboro. Parade route begins on MLK Jr. Drive and goes from Elm Street to Gorrell Street.

The Volunteer Center of Greensboro Day of Service: Going on from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Four Seasons Town Center. Activities include hands-on service projects, a non-profit/volunteer fair, a community art project, performances by Guilford County School students, and a veterans gift area.

Shiloh Baptist Church Service (Greensboro): Happening Monday night at 6 p.m. at the 1210 South Eugene Street location. Will include Reverend Doctor Charles G. Adams, pastor of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit as speaker and music and song by the NC A&T gospel choir.

MLK Day N.C. Scholastic Classic (Greensboro): The 13th annual basketball classic begins Monday at 11:30 a.m. at UNCG’s Fleming gym. Forsyth Country Day School, Greenfield, Page, High Point Christian, Dudley, and Trinity Christian will all be particpating. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or the Greensboro Coliseum box office.

MLK Noon Hour Commemoration (Winston-Salem): The event will take place Monday at Noon in the North Main Hall of the Benton Convention Center at 301 West Fifth Street. Dr. Sir Walter Mack Jr. who is the pastor of Union Baptist Church will deliver the keynote address. NC Senator Earline Parmon will also be honored with the |MLK Dare to Make a Difference” Award and the late Dr. Maya Angelou will be remembered during the service.

MLK Celebration (High Point): The Ministers Conference of High Point will hold morning and evening events Monday.The scholarship breakfast will start at 8 a.m. at Oak Hollow Mall. The cost is $15. The MLK worship service will be held at 6 p.m. at Williams Memorial CME at 3400 Triangle Lake Road with special guest speaker Rev. Dr. Eboni Marshall Turman. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food and hygiene items to both events to be donated to the United Way.

GospelFest (Winston-Salem): Held at Wake Forest University on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Brendle Recital Hall of the Scales Fine Arts Center. It will feature gospel recording artist Jonathan Nelson, Alexis Spight, Big Redd, and the Wake Forest University Gospel Choir. Tickets are available online.
