What’s all the LIN-sation about Jeremy Lin?   NBA sensation Jeremy Lin is in the national spotlight, after going from bench-warmer to leading the New York Knicks in a series of big wins. ThePalo Alto native is a devout Christian.   Lin’s pastor, Stephen Chen, says while things may have changed dramatically in Lin’s life recently, one thing remains the same–his quiet but intense Christian faith. Lin-sanity skyrocketed earlier in the week when the undrafted player from Harvard made a three-pointer with time running out on the clock to lift the Knicks over the Raptors 90 – 87.  The Knicks won their 7th game in a row last night.  BTW: Lin’s parents, who are Taiwanese, belong to Mountain View’s Redeemer Bible Fellowship, the English language ministry of the Chinese Church in Christ.   *Learn more about Lin:  http://www.mercurynews.com/jeremy-lin/ci_19954877

Jeremy Lin quotes:  “I felt I needed to prove myself. But I’ve surrendered that to God. I’m not in a battle with what everybody else thinks anymore.”         “There is so much temptation to hold on to my career even more now,” Lin said. “To try to micromanage and dictate every little aspect. But that’s not how I want to do things anymore. I’m thinking about how can I trust God more. How can I surrender more? How can I bring him more glory?”

NCDOT officials have made a decision on the new route for the new Highway 109 from the Wallburg Community toward Winston-Salem. Corridor 6 has the least environmental impact, but homeowners say that its the most expensive option and will force more families to move. FYI:  Nearly 100 homeowners and five businesses are in the chosen route’s path and will be forced to move See the map:  http://www.ncdot.gov/projects/nc109improvements/

Not a bad ‘job’ if you can get it:  A special grand jury is investigating the case of an involving Jill McGlone, aNorfolk (Virginia) Community Services Board employee who collected pay and benefits for 12 years without showing up for work.   The board placed McGlone on paid suspension in 1998…but she continued to collect her pay and benefits until May 2010.  FYI: Attorney Greg Underwood said last year that investigations by police and the city attorney’s office found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.   (The Virginia-Pilot)     Question:  What’s YOUR dream job???  This story on our Facebook page.
