A note from his daughter was a Wake up call for one CEO…
Mohamed El-Erian was the chief executive of PIMCO until mid-March.
El-Erian stepped down from his position after his young daughter wrote him a note listing 22 milestones he had ‘missed’ in her life because of his job.
The list included missing her first day at school, first soccer match of the season to a parent-teacher meeting and a Halloween parade.
The CEO felt defensive at first saying that “I had a good excuse for each missed event! Travel, important meetings, an urgent phone call, sudden to-do items. But it dawned on me that I was missing an infinitely more important point … I was not making nearly enough time for her.”
El-Erian is now with a financial services company…
and makes it a point to spend at least “50 percent of my time (with my daughter) and I love it…” http://goo.gl/81wkuP

SPORTS…
North Davidson defensive tackle Shy Tuttle, one of the top football recruits in our state, announced Friday he is going out-of-state to play college ball – at Tennessee. Tuttle had narrowed his choices to UNC, NC State, Clemson and Miami.

Former Carolina Panther now Baltimore Raven receiver Steve Smith scored 2 TDs against the Panthers in that 38-10 thrashing of the Panthers Sunday.
Smith, who spent 13 seasons with Carolina, was ‘released’ during the off-season in a cost-cutting move. The Panthers have now lost two straight. WXII 12
