We all know that we need to teach our kids things like proper manners, good hygiene, healthy food choices, the Gospel, etc. But, did you know that kids also need to be taught how to be kind? I guess this surprises me because I always thought of kindness as a innate part of one’s personality, like being good at math, having a good sense of humor or being emotionally sensitive. But, more and more research is showing that kindness is something we can be taught, especially at a young age.
With that in mind, why not spend some of these long summer days intentionally teaching our kids about kindness? A recent article on HuffingtonPost.com offers enough kindness-spreading ideas to take you through this summer and maybe even the whole year. Let me know if you give any of these a try!

I have been working at WBFJ since September 2004 when God threw me out of the boat I was riding in and set me on a new and wonderful course. I love co-hosting the morning show, although the lack of sleep does make me a bit loopy at times.
