IRS pushes tax filing season opening date to January 31

There MAY be a delay in you getting your federal refund.  And it’s connected to last October’s federal shutdown.

The government closure meant the IRS had to change the original ‘opening date’ for the current Tax filing season from Jan. 21 to Jan. 31, 2014. To the average taxpayer – especially those expecting a refund – you can expect your money in about 10 to 21 days after the IRS accepts your return. BTW: E-filing is still the fastest way to get your return (and refund) quicker.    The deadline to file your 2013 taxes…April 15th.
