Police officers in Winston-Salem are wearing black bands over their badges today in honor of Sergeant Howard Plouff who was killed in the line of duty five years ago today. Fox 8 reporting that an ‘Honor Guard’ is standing outside the Winston-Salem Police Department at a memorial in his honor. FYI: Plouff was a member of the Winston-Salem Police Department for 17 years. Also, remembering his wife (Joyce) and their two daughters in our prayers.

A new treatment program for soldiers with PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder is under way at the University of Wisconsin-Madison that doesn’t involve drugs or traditional therapy. It’s Yoga. Many returning veterans who suffer from PTSD can’t turn off the sounds and sights of war, which flood their mind. The program is a year into a two year study, and seeing great results. Visitation and Funeral Arrangements for Azlynn Cretzman, the 3 year old little girl who was killed early Monday morning during a single vehicle crash on I-74 in Surry County. Black Ice on the bridge was to blame. Services will be this Monday (FEB 27) at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown.
Visitation: 10am to noon AND from 3 to 4:30pm
