The Salvation Army of Winston-Salem is now accepting applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (or LIEAP). The Program (LIEAP) provides eligible residents of Forsyth County a one-time vendor payment of $200, $300 or $400 to help pay their heating bills. The time frame to apply for this benefit is now through March 31, 2016. To qualify, applicants must be a North Carolina resident living in Forsyth County, and meet income and resource guidelines. http://goo.gl/DBketl
Households that include a person who is at least 60 years old or a disabled person receiving service through the N.C. Division of Aging and Adult Services may apply between Tuesday and March 31. The household must be responsible for paying its heating bills.
LIEAP funding will be open to all other eligible households from Jan. 1 through March 31, or until funds are exhausted.
LIEAP applications for Forsyth County are available at The Salvation Army of Winston-Salem, 901 N. Cleveland Ave. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Saturday. http://goo.gl/DBketl
