Health: No extra sugar for kids…

New recommendations from the American Heart Association suggesting that children (ages 2 to 18), should consume no more than about six teaspoons of ‘added sugars’ in their daily diets.  Normal allowance should be 20 to 30 grams depending on the child’s age.  Bottom line:  “Heavy sugar consumption has been associated with weight gain, insulin resistance, abnormal cholesterol and fatty liver disease in children…”    http://goo.gl/0tqGND
