“In your anger do not sin, do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.  Ephesians 4:26 NIV

Good idea NOT to “go to bed angry.” New research suggesting that it’s harder to  forget bad thoughts when we go to bed ‘angry’. During sleep, the brain reorganizes the way negative memories are stored, making these associations harder to suppress in the future. So, settle arguments before bedtime! https://goo.gl/xaFfIv

Fact: We make upwards of 70 conscious decisions every day, and most of them are no-brainers. Snooze or wake up? Get dressed or stay in pajamas? Eat oatmeal or eggs? Read or watch TV?

BUT, when we are ‘depressed’, those cognitive processes can seem overwhelming! Little things we normally don’t think twice about suddenly become weighty decisions… (Source: Columbia University)

Friendly Avenue Baptist Church is mourning the loss of their pastor Dr. Pat Cronin. Cronin died suddenly early Sunday morning when he suffered a massive heart attack while driving he and his wife to their home in Oak Ridge from the airport.

Cronin drove off the road and into a field after the heart attack. Cronin’s wife was not injured in the crash.  Church members learned the news this past Sunday morning.  Cronin became the pastor at Friendly Avenue Baptist church in 1995.

A family visitation for Dr. Cronin will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church.

Vision to reach others for Jesus: For 14 years Friendly Avenue Baptist Church hosted a “living Christmas tree,” made up of the church choir, accompanied by an orchestra, at their church building.  This year Pastor Pat’s vision was to move the Christmas tree to the mall in order to let more people enjoy the music. The performances will go on as planned THIS weekend – honoring Cronin’s vision for ministering to the community.

“Friendly Avenue Baptist Church presents their Living Christmas Tree”

Location: Four Seasons Town Centre this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the  amphitheater area of the mall. Shows will run every 45 minutes (lasting around 25 minutes).
