Good Deed:  Shannon Wilson was forced out of her home near Lake Lure for seven days as firefighters battled wild fires from spreading.

New York University is rolling out a program next fall that would let students live in the spare bedrooms of local senior citizens. The cost of housing can be very expensive for students, while low-income seniors will be compensated.
