William Christopher, best known as Father Mulcahy /the chaplain on the TV hit M*A*S*H, passed away Saturday morning. He was 84.

North Carolina Gov. elect Roy Cooper took his oath of office minutes after midnight early Sunday morning, getting an early start on his duties.

President Obama will deliver his farewell address to the nation on next Tuesday (Jan 10) from his adopted home city of Chicago.

After a remarkable 16-year NFL career, former Carolina Panthers great Steve Smith has retired.  The 37-year-old Baltimore Raven retired on Sunday.

The City of Winston-Salem is collecting old Christmas trees to turn into mulch.
