“The doctor will Face  Time you now?”  Local healthcare providers including Novant Health recently started offering video visits through the Novant Health Express Care facility in Clemmons.   Novant offers video visits within MyChart, an electronic health records portal, for nonemergency health issues. Patients must have a computer, laptop or mobile device such as a smartphone; a webcam; and a MyChart account.  Experts say that this is the ‘next level of convenience.”   Would you utilize a ‘video visit’ for medical care?  http://goo.gl/spGzuP

NEW:  Citing “a systemic failure to care for animals,” the N.C. Department of Agriculture has revoked the license of United Animal Coalition which runs animal shelters in Davidson and Guilford counties. The state, along with local and federal law enforcement agencies, has been investigating the two shelters since July amid complaints of animal abuse and neglect. “It is extremely rare to revoke a license at an animal shelter,” said N.C.
