Forsyth County’s elderly population is expected to double over the next 25 years.  If you or a loved one is close to age 65, you probably have questions about healthcare. “Sour Year” for Florida citrus – Citrus growers have experienced huge losses this past year (from dry weather to disease).  Due to an orange surplus, DON’T expect a
price increase just yet.  FYI: The total impact of citrus on Florida’s economy…about $9 billion dollars a year.  www.journalnow.com

It’s a challenge for ALL prospective parents – picking out the right name for their child.  One enterprising Los Angeles mother-to-be is ‘outsourcing’ the naming of her child.  The mom, 26-year-old Natasha Hill, is due in September. Natasha won a contest through the website ‘Belly Ballot’ – a company that allows family and friends to help select your baby’s name. Here’s the deal: Natasha is being paid $5,000 to let
complete strangers make the choice for her. Users worldwide will be able to choose one girl name and one boy name each from the list of names provided until March 22 when voting closes. The name with the most votes for each gender will be the
name of Natasha’s new baby.    http://myfox8.com/2013/03/03/mom-to-be-selling-rights-to-name-baby-for-5k/

Impossible to recover:  Authorities hope to get a better look at a sinkhole that swallowed a man in his Florida home last Thursday. The effort to recover Jeff Bush’s body was called off Saturday because the sinkhole was growing larger, and the house was unstable.  According to the Miami Herald, the man’s family was able to save a few things from the home before it was demolished on Sunday.  The home is
located 15 miles east of downtown Tampa. http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/04/us/florida-sinkhole/index.html?hpt=hp_c1
Members of the General Assembly and the Governor have their eyes set on the NC Education Lottery.  There’s a bipartisan bill scheduled for House debate this week that would delete the name “education” from the lottery and require ads to give the long odds of winning multimillion-dollar prizes. State law only now requires the overall odds of winning a game prize. http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20130303/APN/1303030702

The Queen of England was admitted to the hospital on Sunday due to complications of a stomach bug.  Buckingham Palace says that the 86-year old monarch is in good health and hopes to be released ‘soon’.   RnR
