According to an Elon University Poll released this week: Thirty-one percent of registered voters who plan to take part in next year’s Republican primary said they would vote for Ben Carson if the election were today. On the Democratic side: Hillary Clinton holds a big lead in North Carolina with some 57% of registered Democrats. Twister, Puppets, and Super Soaker have been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. To be inducted, a toy must have survived the test of time; be widely recognized; and foster learning, creativity or discovery through play. The North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh is honoring the life of Reverend Billy Graham with a unique exhibit about his life and faith, while keeping the focus on Jesus. The FREE exhibit runs thru July 10, 2016.   *Happy Birthday, Billy:  Graham turns 97 years old this Saturday, NOV 7th

George Barris, the creator of the 1960’s Batmobile, died on Thursday. The “King of the Kustomizers” was 89. For many years, Barris’ handiwork was all over television creating the Munsters Koach for “The Munsters”; the surfboard-topped, flower-decaled ride on “The Bugaloos”; and the KITT from “Knight Rider.” Barris converted the famous Batmobile in “15 days and (for) 15 grand”.     http://goo.gl/TRjkZK

 

Veterans’ Day activities

The annual Veterans’ Day parade happening around 10am (Saturday morning) in downtown Winston-Salem.  The parade will start at the corner of Broad and Fourth streets and proceed east on Fourth Street.  The parade will turn south on Liberty and go to Business 40.   http://goo.gl/8cZ7X5
