MORE SNOW IS POSSIBLE FOR SOME AREAS OF THE NORTHEAST HIT BY A MASSIVE BLIZZARD OVER THE WEEKEND.  The weekend snow storm knocked out power for more than half a million customers. It stretched from northernPennsylvaniadeep intoMaine.  The National Weather Service says several states in the Northeast and inNew Englandcould see more snowfall today.

POPE BENEDICT XVI IS TO RESIGN AT THE END OF THIS MONTH IN AN UNEXPECTED DEVELOPMENT. The BBC reports the Benedict, who became Pope in 2005, says he is too old to continue at the age of 85. Resignations from the papacy are not unknown, but this is the first in the modern era. The news has come as a shock to the Catholic community, with no speculation about the move in recent days. AVatican spokesman indicated that even the Pope’s closest aides did not know what he was planning to do.

 A PUBLIC POLICY POLLING SURVEY RELEASED LAST WEEK REVEALED A NOT SO SURPRISING SPLIT AMONG DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS ON THE NEWS NETWORK THEY TRUST MOST. The poll found that overall, 46 percent those questioned do not trust Fox News, while 41 percent reported loyalty to the network. In a breakdown of the two main political parties, Democrats trust any other network more than Fox, while Republicans trusted only Fox. According to the poll, Democrats most trusted network is PBS.

The Forbush High School Cheerleading squad spent the weekend at Disney World, winning the World Championship in the non-tumbling division on Sunday.DavieCounty also won the world ranking for their division.
