Reminder: Valentine’s Day is Saturday:   Although not as recognizable or commercial as Valentine’s Day, this week is also ‘Random Acts of Kindness Week’. The yearly event, which runs through Sunday (Feb 15), encourages all of us to spread some love and kindness. According to one ‘expert’-    “People who engage in acts of kindness become ‘happier’ over time. Being kind to others, makes you feel good as a person, even more moral, optimistic, and positive…”     http://national.deseretnews.com/article/3506/Not-in-a-relationship-Celebrate-Valentines-Day-by-doing-this.html#VmcPdBIcOipByrgD.99

You helped Samaritan’s Purse EXCEED its donation goal of 10 million gift-filled shoeboxes for 2014.  http://goo.gl/k1jdTa    Along with the gifts, the kids receive the gospel of Jesus through a 12-week discipleship program called “The Greatest Journey”.  At the end of the 12 weeks, the kids go through a graduation ceremony and receive their very own Bible in their native language.    OCC   http://goo.gl/k1jdTa

It was a routine dental visit for 11 year old Journee Woodard of Edmond, Oklahoma when dental hygienist, Rachel Stroble, noticed something odd. No, it wasn’t Journee’s teeth. It was her eyes.  “Her eyes look yellow…abnormal,” said Dr. Michael Chandler, Journee’s dentist.  Dr. Chandler informed Journee’s mom, who took her to a doctor. Little did they know she’d be fighting for her life.  “…days later Journee underwent a 9 hour surgery to remove a grapefruit-size tumor…a major operation that removed part of her pancreas, stomach, gall bladder and part of the intestine.”   But the doctor is quick to point out that he and his crew were simply being diligent and doing their job.  Find out more about Journee’s Journey and a way to donate to the family on the News Blog at wbfj.fm   http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/journee-s-journey/303264       The Story:  http://goo.gl/UxqEEM

“I may speak in the languages of humans and of angels. But if I don’t have love, I am a loud gong or a clashing cymbal. I may have the gift to speak what God has revealed, and I may understand all mysteries and have all knowledge. I may even have enough faith to move mountains. But if I don’t have love, I am nothing…”        1 Corinthians 13:1-2 GW

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”         1 John 4:10-11
