One of the bat-dogs with the Greensboro Grasshoppers is on the ‘disabled list’ after having ‘ear surgery’ earlier in the week. Miss Babe Ruth, an 8-year-old black Labrador retriever, works home games fetching bats and delivering new baseballs to the home-plate umpire. “Right now she is listed as ‘day-to-day’, and I guess we will ‘play it by ear’ to see if Babe will be back in action next week. Stadium Drive has long been a problem, leading to congestion that backs up traffic to Highway 158 during the school year.
