The North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro has adopted a wild polar bear

and it needs a ‘name’.  Among the choices…

“Yuri,” which means “one who is beautiful”

“Ta-pee-sa,” which means “Arctic flower”

The other choices are “Carolina,” ”Hope” and “Sa-kar-i,” which means “sweet.”

*Voting continues through Monday afternoon (Nov 19 at 4pm) The winning name will be announced on Nov. 20.  www.nczoo.org/news/help-us-name-our-wild-polar-bear

Officials in an Alabama County have a financial mess to correct.

The local sheriff’s department mistakenly ordered 24,000 extra rolls of toilet paper.
WAFF-TV reports the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office mistakenly spent $22,000 dollars on toilet paper and another $9,000 dollars on 450 cases of trash bags.

BTW: That’s double the department’s entire janitorial supply budget for next year.
*Negotiations are underway to resolve this situation, with county commissioners suggesting they’ve got the department’s back (side).
*Officials are still trying to figure out where to store two years’ worth of TP.

And they’re also working to get to the bottom of how this happened.

Reminder: Business 40 closure set for Saturday morning at 6am
