That’s the reminder from the Winston-Salem police department. Actually, the department is following up on at least 21 reports of car break-ins in the southern part of the city. Multiple neighborhoods near Highway 150 were targeted.

New this morning:  The U.S. State Department has confirmed one American died during the deadly terror attack in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday.

Update: At least eight people have been charged for toppling that Confederate statue of Robert E Lee in Durham.  Those arrested are charged with two felonies related to inciting and participating in a riot that damaged property.  Washington Post

One study showing that the HB-2 / Bathroom Room Bill wasn’t the economic disaster for the state that many had predicted.  On Monday, The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina  announced that 97 of the State’s 100 counties saw increases in visitor spending in 2016: North Carolina was the 6th most visited state, with 48 million visitors. Last year, Wyndham Worldwide gave $100,000 in seed money to support “Birdies for Backpacks” – a project which helps children in free and reduced meal programs in area schools eat nutritiously on weekends.
