Forsyth Piecers & Quilters Guild is a non-profit organization and operated exclusively for charitable, historical and education purposes.

We benefit, educate and support persons interested in preserving, continuing and advancing the art and craft of quilting and related fiber arts.  In May of this year, the guild celebrated 35 years.

With the cost of materials going up, our guild is looking for ways to raise money for our charity projects so that our members can continue to piece and quilt beautiful items for our community and reduce the cost of purchasing materials, threads and batting themselves.    Currently 60% of our members are 65 or over.

Our guild charities consist of: Quilts of Valor for service men/women who have been directly affected by war; Premee Blankets for premature infants at Brenner Children’s Hospital; Nap Blankets for Forsyth County kindergartners who can’t afford their own; Senior Quilts for Alzheimer patients and new this year SECU Family House has requested 45 blankets for rooms that provide a place for patients or family living outside of Forsyth County to stay who are receiving inpatient or outpatient treatment by Baptist and Forsyth Medical Centers or the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

For the first time, our guild will have a booth #26, as an inside vendor, selling raffle tickets –  6 tickets for $5, at the Dixie Classic Fair.  Winner will receive $1,000 in cash.  The winning ticket will be drawn October 10 at 7PM at our monthly meeting at Parkway Presbyterian Church.
