Some of Baseball’s highest-paid players are facing suspension. Major League Baseball is set to suspend at least 20 professional baseball players in the coming weeks due to a scandal involving performance-enhancing drugs. No cell phone use while driving in Chapel Hill. A three-judge panel of the state Court of Appeals saying that the ordinance can be enforced only if an officer first stops a vehicle for another reason. The psychological evidence is quite clear: using a cell phone while you’re driving is distracting. What’s less clear is whether or not these bans actually reduce road accidents. Given that mobile technology is fairly new, one study taking a look at texting bans in four states, back in 2010, actually found that accidents increased in those states, compared to neighboring states without the bans.
