Duke Freshmen refuse to read ‘trashy novel with Gay agenda’

Standing true to their convictions:  Some incoming freshman at Duke University have refused to complete their summer reading assignment because of their Christian and moral beliefs. The novel in question  ‘Fun Home’ is a pro – LGBT, graphic novel by Alison Bechdel.   According to the Duke Chronicle, freshman Brian Grasso posted in the Class of 2019 Facebook page that he would not read the book “because of the graphic visual depictions of sexuality.”  The Duke Common Experience Selection committee — comprised of various students, faculty and staff members — reportedly says the novel was chosen because of the many of the important issues it portrays, such as mental health, interpersonal relationships and human rights.  http://goo.gl/mEeMCp
