Winston-Salem native Tiquila Wilson will NOT be the next American Idol? No, the judges did NOT vote her out.  The 24-year-old saying that SHE decided to leave “American Idol” during Thursday night’s episode – for her own reasons.“I’m a church baby,” she added. “All I know is gospel music. A Girl Scout troop in Roanoke Rapids (northeast of Raleigh) told a mom to ‘sell’ her daughter’s cookies or face a lawsuit? According to WNCT, 8-year-old Reagan Phillips decided to quit Girl Scouts because she was being teased by other girls. After she quit, her mom tried to return 288 boxes of Girl Scout cookies they promised to sell. But the local sales coordinator told her she had to cover the cost of the cookies or face a lawsuit. Conflicting reports?  Governor Pat McCrory visited the Dan River on Thursday near the site of that Duke Energy / Coal Ash spill.  A certified lab analysis of water samples taken from the Dan River between Eden and Danville on Tuesday reveal that the water immediately downstream of Duke Energy’s ‘Coal Ash spill’ is “contaminated with extremely high levels of arsenic, chromium, iron, lead and other toxic metals” that’s according to a report from Waterkeeper Alliance, an environmental group.
